S.A. and N.T. Industry Leaders Unite For Water Solutions
Water companies from South Australia and the Northern Territory will come together this week to discuss water innovation and facilitate potential partnerships.
Mr Joe Flynn, Chief Executive Officer of the Water Industry Alliance (WIA), will lead a delegation of more than 20 SA-based water companies to the NT to explore water solutions and opportunities with Power and Water Corporation decision makers.
Power and Water is the sole provider of electricity, water supply and sewerage
services to almost 80,000 customers across the Northern Territory.
The Territory water industry forum will run over two days this Wednesday and
Thursday (21-22 October) in Alice Springs and Darwin.
Mr Flynn will discuss the success of the WIA since its inception in 1998, as well as the need for a united approach by SA and the NT to tackle water challenges and offer solutions.
He will also discuss recent export alliance initiatives at a national level.
"South Australia is emerging as a global player in water-related technology and
intelligence," said Mr Flynn.
"It's important that SA and NT water industry decision makers work together to draw closer links to water solutions.
"This forum is about sharing information and ideas and finding solutions."
Mr Flynn will also present a speech at the Water in the Bush AWA conference this
Friday (23 October) in Darwin.
With more than 240 members, the WIA has grown annual exports of South
Australian water technology and management services from $25 million to $400
million, with accumulated exports exceeding $2.4 billion.
