-- Expert comment on Earth Day --

Earth Day is this Wednesday, 22 April. This year’s theme is green generation or

renewable energy.

Australia, and Victoria in particular, has an excellent climate for producing

renewable energy from the sun, wind and water but we barely use enough of it.

Australians also continue to waste the electricity we produce.

How can we better manage our energy usage?

What can we do about improving the storage of renewable energy?

How can we better manage the production of renewable energy and make it more

efficient?

How can we make using renewable energy more cost-effective and attractive to

consumers?

What are the costs involved in creating the infrastructure for generating renewable

energy?

RMIT University’s Dr Andrea Bunting is an expert in wind power, renewable energy

policy and environmental technology policy.

A lecturer with the School of Aerospace, Mechanical and Manufacturing

Engineering, Dr Bunting is available for interview on Earth Day and the need to

better manage our energy usage and renewable energy production.
