Bush regeneration experts
speak at Gold Coast event
An innovative speaker's program, interactive exhibitions, guided walks, face-painting and a free barbecue are on offer as part of the first Gold Coast Bush Restoration Fair, to be held at Southport on Saturday 5 July.
The speaker's program features topics such as site assessment, fauna surveys, managing feral animals, water quality monitoring, regeneration techniques and replanting processes. Exhibitions include weed removal tools, nurseries, books, contractors, Council services, community organisations and much more.
Mark Tierney, Chairperson for Gold Coast Catchment Association said "we're planning a full day of activities to give community groups and their volunteers an overview of bush restoration techniques and some of the services which are available to make their jobs easier."
"We are also providing an opportunity for contractors like Gecko Regen and Bushcare Services to show people how easy it is to manage bush restoration projects on the Gold Coast," he added.
The event takes place on Saturday 5 July from 9.00 am - 3.00 pm at the Loders Creek restoration site off Ewan Road, Southport.
