AEMO Monitoring Power Supply in New South Wales
The Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) advises that it is closely monitoring the power system in New South Wales due to the continued high temperatures increasing demand on power supply.
The unseasonally high temperatures at this time of year increases the risk that failure of equipment could result in interruptions to supply. AEMO will continue to monitor the supply and demand situation throughout the afternoon the peak period for electricity usage.
AEMO, the national power system operator, will provide further information as more details come to hand.
