Bloomberg is First to Achieve LEED Gold Certification In Japan


NEW YORK, Oct. 13 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --


    Bloomberg is the first company in Japan to earn the Gold honor from the

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating

System, achieving LEED Gold Certification for Commercial Interiors for the

Bloomberg office (19th floor) at 2-4-1 Marunouchi Chiyoda-Ku, Tokyo, Japan.


    LEED has recognized the Bloomberg Tokyo office as having a high level of

sustainable building qualities, making it the first and only holder of LEED

Gold certification in Japan.


    Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED provides

standards for environmentally sustainable construction. The LEED Gold award

recognizes Bloomberg's office design for energy saving, CO2 emissions

reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, stewardship of resources

and sensitivity to their impacts.
