A TREE FREE PAPER REVOLUTION
GreenSoft
tissue paper products represent an extraordinary technological
breakthrough in the production of tree-free household paper products and will be
launched in Australia on the 8th November before launching into Europe and the US
in 2010.
Australian businessman,
Damien Scarf,
developed this leading edge
technology
which uses tree-free fibres from a number of sources including cotton and bamboo to
produce these tissue paper products, which eliminates the need to cut down any
trees.
Damien
says he is
looking forward to seeing this technology change the habits of
shoppers and is proud to be bringing to the market a leading product to head up the
wood free revolution.
Australia is the first country globally to apply this technology and to launch the first of
these tree-free products
a premium toilet tissue paper -
to be followed by other
household products including facial tissues, napkins and kitchen paper towel in 2010.
Woolworths who have been an enthusiastic supporter of GreenSoft
during the
development phase will distribute these products
through 780 stores nationally. In
2010 GreenSoft will increase distribution outlets.
The environmental aspect is significant as the renewable sources used are gentler on
the environment and take only 4-6 months to regenerate.
The pulp and paper
industry is the largest single industrial wood consumer in the world. In the United States
alone more than 12,000 square miles of forest are cleared to make paper each year.
Over 21 million tons of tissue papers are consumed in the world every year. Using tree-
free tissue papers will save millions of trees and greatly reduce the need for non-
sustainable clear-cutting.
The organics in the waste water pose a great threat to the water bodies. Yet, the
demand for paper products is rapidly growing. How to solve this dilemma has
become a key issue in todays economic development. GreenSoft is committed to
reducing environmental damage.
GreenSoft
products are currently manufactured in China and
Damien says
negotiations are already underway to
have factories operating in Australia
within 2
years, employing 500 people.
